I'm so happy to have discovered Cloves. The food is delicious and the ambiance is very comfortable. The service (especially the young man who waited on us) was respectful, helpful, and caring. Strongly recommend this place.

I love this place! We met the sweet owner Syed and he could not have been more gracious. The food was so good, the service prompt and friendly. We not only had our waitstaff attentive but the owner, Syed. We had the Tandoori Broccoli as an appetizer which was devine - perhaps the best roasted broccoli we've ever had! Full of flavor and spices! Yum. I told them I could eat a whole platter of that, that's how delicious it was! We also had the Samosas - good too. For dinner we went with the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Saag. Both were tasty and came with rice and peas. Garlic Naan was amazing too! They then gave us Chicken 65 to try complimentary. I have no idea what that was but it was amazing and I'll be ordering that next time. We got Guleb Jamun for dessert - just the sweet bite we needed after dinner. Best I can describe it as pancakes soaked in syrup. Yum. We have 4 years at NYU Medical so we will definitely be back again and again. They couldn't have been kinder. Oh, and the strawberry Cosmo was so good too! Go - it has a great crowd and vibe! You will love it if you like Indian food.

Everything was actually so pleasant about this experience; first of all the food was incredible. We had the lobster masala which is amazing fresh and organic lobster with incredible flavor. We paired daal makhani, another wonderful dish, with chicken tikka masala and rice, if you know you know! The onion kulcha & garlic naan with this was another incredible choice, truly delicious We topped this with mango ice cream, it's truly what you need at the end of a meal like this! The ambiance was very nice as well, very clean place! The staff were amazing, and we met the owner who was also very sweet! I definitely recommend this place to try if you're in NYC and willing to try some great food :)

The owner is grateful always to see me there and the food is so delicious and fresh; they put great effort into the deliciousness of the food and the deliciousness of their drinks! The restaurant is very clean, they make it their priority to have everything done to perfection! Kudos to you guys, I love you all! Chicken tikka masala is perfect and salmon made the same way is so delicious that I eat it to the point of passing out...lol...it is sooooooo good! Their rice is made to perfection; everything is always perfect!

Might be one of my new favorite restaurants in the city, but definitely the favorite under the "Indian food" category. The flavors were delicious and the staff was so nice. My only comment is that the main dish portions are smaller than what I typically get at Indian restaurants. Would have appreciated a few more pieces of chicken for sure :)

We ordered takeout, and were surprised at how good the food was. We tried the goat biryani, lamb vindaloo and chicken jalfrezi with garlic naan. I can't comment on the service, but the food was ready at the time they said it would be and the inside looked nicely decorated. The biryani was the best biryani I have had, not too oily and packed with flavor. The raita it came with made it even better, but honestly the biryani was incredible on its own. The lamb vindaloo had great flavor, but we wanted it to be spicier (it barely had any heat to it). The chicken jalfrezi was excellent and we agreed was reason enough to go back. The naan was tasty and what you would expect from other Indian restaurants. The portions were decent and the prices normal for the area. I would definitely recommend it and we plan to go back to try more of the menu.

Enjoyed some good indian food here. The ambiance was lovely and the service iexcellent. The food was perfectly fine- not 5 star but still good. The paladin were crisp. The chicken tikka masala was tasty but not nearly as hot as i ordered. The salad was fresh and generous and the fish was good. There are definitely better indian restaurants in the city but if you are in the area this place is fine.

This newish Curry Hill-adjacent restaurant might be our current fave sit-down Indian dinner joint in town. After my second meal here, I can confidently say that it's a worthy addition to our date night rotation. During my most recent visit, I was once again impressed with the superb service (the kind that's magically present whenever you need something, but otherwise leaves you alone), monstrous portions, flavor-packed dishes, and a sophisticated but unpretentious ambiance. I've yet to have a dish I didn't enjoy, but special shoutouts to the palak paneer and garlic naan. Their prices are quite reasonable, as well. With two veg dishes, a side of rice, and a bread, our total rang up to barely $60 -- and we had roughly 50% of each veg to take home for leftovers! We had some initial reservations about the acoustics, but I ascertained that the extreme volume was probably due to our window seating during our first visit. On hand one, it's nice to have a view of the foot traffic passing by along Madison Ave., but the glass bounces sound back pretty aggressively. When seated in the middle of the room, we didn't experience this effect and were able to enjoy a delightful conversation with the pleasant hum of background noise.
